How to Spot the Dragonsteel Booth at Celsius 232 (+ A Field Guide)

Celsius 232 transforms the historic town of Avilés into a lively celebration of fantasy, horror, and sci-fi each summer. Fans pour into the plazas and arcaded streets to meet their favorite authors, watch outdoor films under the stars, and geek out together in the open air.

Since Team Dragonsteel is joining the fun this year, we thought we’d put together a little field guide to help you spot our booth amid all the excitement. And, we ran into Phyl during setup… he was filming something for the Perpendicularity Bulletin…

Featured members of the team in the video above include:

Daniel! (Who is definitely not Phyl!)

  • Knight Radiant Order: Willshaper
  • Cosmere Character He’s Most Like: “Unfortunately, Hoid. If we met, he would also agree that it was unfortunate.”

Pablo!

  • Knight Radiant Order: Dustbringer
  • Cosmere Character He’s Most Like: Wayne (I agree with this assessment wholeheartedly.)

Jacob!

  • Knight Radiant Order: Edgedancer
  • Cosmere Character He’s Most Like: Nomad

Logan! (Who bears no resemblance to any Silverlight character you have or will meet very soon! He’s tired of people mistaking him for Min Fahl!)

  • Knight Radiant Order: Unoathed (Ooooo…)
  • Cosmere Character He’s Most Like: “Anyone but Min Fahl (but really Adolin).”

Jerrod!

  • Knight Radiant Order: Skybreaker
  • Cosmere Character He’s Most Like: Zahel

And of course, one of our fearless leaders, Kara!

  • Knight Radiant Order: Windrunner
  • Cosmere Character She’s Most Like: “Kelsier (Schemer for the win!)”

Beyond browsing our merch and procuring your leatherbounds, one of the best parts about the Dragonsteel booth at any convention is the team. Our wonderful staff are loaded with Cosmere knowledge (deep lore cuts included) and many of them speak both Spanish and English, so please feel free to stop by just for a chat. We’d absolutely love to see you!

Setup Day Sights

It’s the day before the festival officially begins, and the Dragonsteel booth is coming to life.

Our tent is filled with the hustle of setup: boxes upon boxes of books and swag are stacked like Tetris blocks waiting to be unpacked. Our team is busily stocking our walnut shelves with the shimmering leatherbounds you know and love. We’ve hauled in a pin display that’s basically the Cosmere equivalent of a constellation map with hundreds of shiny pins being carefully arranged.

You might catch us debating the perfect arrangement (“Should the Mistborn symbols go next to the Stormlight glyphs, or do we sort by Cosmere planet?” it’s truly the pressing question of setup day). Between assembling shelves and double-checking inventory, we’re already swapping stories with curious locals and fans alike who stop by amidst the chaos.

By the end of the day, our corner of Celsius 232 will be unmistakable. Let’s hear it for our wonderful, talented booth team for their hard work! Huzzah! 🍻

Local Delicacies for Worldhoppers

If you’re hungry while exploring the festival, you’re in the right town. Avilés is known for its sidrerías (cider bars), where hard apple cider is dramatically poured from above the shoulder for maximum fizz and flavor.

You’ll also want to try cachopo: a breaded, cheese-and-ham-stuffed meat dish the size of your face. You’ll find versions of it at places like Tierra Astur (inside a literal cider barrel) or Casa Lin (a century-old cider house with legendary fabada stew).

Quick bites? Grab churros or pintxos near the main square. Then, relax and enjoy the cosplay watching. (Stay tuned for a cosplay round-up of our favorites, and watch our socials for real-time updates!)

Between Panels: Exploring Avilés

When you're not deep in Cosmere discussion, take some time to explore the town itself. Stroll the arcaded streets, pop into a local bookshop, or relax in Parque Ferrera (where sword fighting sometimes spontaneously happens—true story).

If you’re craving something futuristic, head across the river to the Centro Niemeyer—a sleek cultural center that looks like it belongs on Taldain. It’s quiet, weirdly inspiring, and the perfect place to read your newly signed leatherbound.

Festival Traditions to Know

  • The name Celsius 232 comes from Fahrenheit 451—it's the temperature where paper ignites. Literary fire, literally.
  • It’s entirely free to attend. No tickets, no badges. Just show up and love books.
  • Cosplay contest. Cosplay party. Cosplay… everywhere. Prepare to cheer, cry, or be mildly alarmed by a very convincing Koloss.
  • All-night horror marathon. Starts near midnight. Ends whenever your sanity does.
  • Outdoor movies every night. Free. Huge inflatable screen. Awesome.

Wrapping Up

So now you know how to spot the Dragonsteel booth at Celsius 232. Boxes. Books. Pins. Laughing team members. Cosmere quotes in two languages. A slightly chaotic line of excited fans. That’s us.

Come say hi. Ask us about the books. Tell us your favorite order of Knights Radiant. Trade theories with Phyl. Buy something beautiful. Or just vibe with the magic of the con.

We open at 11AM on Tuesday! We’re so, so glad to be here. And we’re even more glad you are too.
