Sanderson and Dragonsteel head to Atlanta

Brandon Sanderson and Dragonsteel Head to Atlanta: JordanCon, John Scalzi, and a Pop-Up Shop

Apr 15, 2026Tayan Hatch0 comments

Once upon a time, Brandon Sanderson declared John Scalzi his arch nemesis. Scalzi, to his credit, has been a remarkably good sport. This Thursday, the two of them share the stage in Atlanta—and that's just the start of a full Dragonsteel weekend. We'll have event exclusives, a pop-up shop, and a packed JordanCon booth. Can't make it in person? No worries! We'll have full coverage on The Cognitive Realm, Dragonsteel's social channels, and Brandon's YouTube channel.

Here's your full guide to finding us in Atlanta.

Thursday, April 16: An Evening with Brandon Sanderson and John Scalzi (+ a Dragonsteel Pop-Up Shop)

If you're in the Atlanta area, we'd love to see you on Thursday! Brandon and John Scalzi are sitting down together for an evening of conversation, and it’ll be their first shared stage in over a decade.

The event is sold out, but for those who have tickets, here are some details. Eagle Eye Bookshop, an Atlanta-area independent bookseller that has been doing events with Brandon for nearly twenty years, is hosting us at Decatur First Baptist Church from 7:00–8:00 PM EDT. (Don’t worry if you weren’t able to grab a ticket, we'll be filming for Brandon's YouTube channel so you won't miss a thing.)

Ticket or not, we hope you'll swing by our very first Dragonsteel pop-up shop, running outside the venue from 11:00 AM–7:00 PM EDT! We're bringing tons of Dragonsteel merch and signed books, which will be the same lineup you'll find at our JordanCon booth all weekend. If you want to see us do something like this again, showing up is the best way to make it happen. More on that merch lineup below!

Friday–Sunday, April 17–19: Brandon and Dragonsteel at JordanCon

Brandon is back at JordanCon this year! If you're attending the convention, here's everything you need to know.

Brandon's spotlight panel is Friday, April 17, at 2:30–4:00 PM EDT, which you won’t want to miss, and the Dragonsteel team will have two panels worth clearing your schedule for on Saturday.

The Wheel of Time Leatherbound Panel is Saturday, April 18, at 11:30 AM EDT. Isaac and Shawn from Dragonsteel's creative team, alongside Kristy and Suzanne from editorial, are sitting down to talk about Dragonsteel's edition of The Great Hunt. If you've ever wanted to hear directly from the people who designed, edited, and built one of our leatherbounds, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.

Then, the creative team will be back in the afternoon to talk all about the Skyward leatherbound—that’ll be Saturday, April 18, at 2:30 PM EDT. They’ll be giving us a first look at our next leatherbound, releasing this Light Day. Consider this your first peek behind the curtain!

The Dragonsteel booth will be there all weekend! Here's what we're bringing:

  • JordanCon Event Pin: It’s exclusive to this event! If you play our convention game (more details below), you’ll win one for free while supplies last.
  • Mistborn Kredik Shaw Bookends: Back by popular demand, and if you miss them here, they'll also be making an appearance at MCM London.
  • Elsecaller/King Lopen Double Book: A signed event exclusive!
  • The Sanderson Starter Set Bundle: The full set, perfect for new readers or the Cosmere fan who has (almost) everything.
  • Dragonsteel’s Leatherbound Collection: We’ll have all of them available for purchase!
  • Apparel: Grab a Patji or Forests of Hell t-shirt, a Cosmere tie, Mistborn Era 1 adjustable hat, and more!
  • Pins: We never go anywhere without plenty of pins. This time, from our Dragonsteel character pin lineup, we’re bringing Shai, Elend, Marasi, Rysn, Wayne, Worldhopper Hoid, and more! (We’ll also have some Peter Ahlstrom pins. IYKYK.) If you haven’t started collecting our Sandershelf Pins yet, this is a great time to start. We’ll have Mistborn Era 1, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Warbreaker, Isles of the Emberdark, and Way of Kings.
  • Dice: Last thing we wanted to call out is that we’ll have tons of Radiant Order dice with us, and they’ll be discounted!

The JordanCon Game

Throughout the weekend, our booth team is inviting attendees to participate in our JordanCon game! The objective is to obtain four ribbons from Dragonsteel team members, and then 12 more from your fellow congoers. As a reward, and you'll walk away with a gorgeous Gleeman bookmark stamped with completion, plus that exclusive JordanCon pin (while supplies last). Good luck out there!

A Note on the Eye of the World Leatherbound

We know many of you are still waiting on your Eye of the World leatherbound, and due to manufacturing delays, we won’t be able to bring any with us to Atlanta. For the full update on where things stand and what to expect, you can read our latest newsletter here. We appreciate your patience more than we can say, we're committed to getting this right.

Come Find Us in Atlanta

Whether you're catching the pop-up shop on Thursday, spending the weekend at JordanCon, or both, we’re so excited to see you. If you can't make it in person, follow along on The Cognitive Realm, Dragonsteel's social channels, and Brandon's YouTube for coverage all weekend!
