The wheel weaves as the wheel wills...

After years of meticulous development, we're thrilled to present the definitive collector's edition of Robert Jordan’s The Eye of the World, the book that launched one of fantasy's most beloved series. The first in a 14 book (plus a prequel) epic, this story captured your imagination and ours decades ago. It's our honor to contribute this edition to the Pattern.

Working in close collaboration with Harriet McDougal, the Jordan estate (Bandersnatch), and Tor Publishing Group, our creative team has spent years immersed in every detail of this edition, crafting an heirloom-quality volume. Our primary intention was to create a tactile experience with this book. From the moment you pick the volume up, you'll feel the difference: the weight of premium leather, the glint of gilded edges catching the light, the precise grain of blind embossing beneath your fingers.

A Masterwork of Book Design

Artist Petar Penev has created a suite of new interior illustrations that honor the iconography fans treasure while elevating the visual experience to match the epic scope of Jordan's vision. The refreshed chapter icons pay homage to the originals—essential to any Wheel of Time reader—while the stunning new cover design and endpapers transform this edition into a tactile journey through the story.

Every element has been considered:

  • Brand new art pieces throughout the volume
  • Refreshed chapter icons
  • Blind embossing on the cover for a tactile experience
  • A ribbon bookmark for your next re-read
  • Gold gilded edges
  • Stunning endpapers
  • Dragonsteel's signature two-toned ink
  • Robert Jordan's signature preserved in print as a tribute to the master storyteller

An Investment in Your Collection

We've built our reputation on one principle: when you purchase a Dragonsteel leatherbound, you're acquiring an artifact of fantasy, designed to be treasured for generations. This first printing represents the beginning of what will become a landmark series in your collection.

The Wheel of Time turns, and ages come and pass. Some stories deserve to live forever.

Robert Jordan's Signature Preserved

There's a story behind this decision. Click below to hear Brandon tell it!

“We want to translate, not reinvent.”

Shawn Boyles, art director for The Eye of the World leatherbound, said that translating the beautiful components of the original is, in some ways, easy, because we’re “standing on the shoulders of kings.”

“I see these like souvenirs.”

Isaac Stewart, Dragonsteel's VP of creative development, said of this leatherbound: "When you explore a world like this one, you want something to put up on your shelf and say that ‘I experienced something that I loved.’ It’s a way of expressing the joy of going on this journey. I think it’s a souvenir of your explorations of other worlds.
